Our latest donation!

November 2014

Thanks to Ryan Atkinson we now have an additional piece of equipment for our studio. He has kindly given us another sound card - a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro. It's always handy to have spare pieces of equipment for our studio, as you never know when something may malfunction and we are always under time constraints for production.

Thanks again to Ryan for his generosity.

If you would also like to donate equipment please contact us.

An Honourable Mention for our Proposal at Climate Colab!

October 2014

We recently attended the Climate Colab conference at MIT University in Boston as winners of the Communicating Coastal Adaptation and Resiliency contest. Our entry was given an Honourable mention after being selected by a prominent team of experts:  Robert Armstrong, Director of the MIT Energy Initiative; Hazel Markus, Davis-Brack Professor in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University; and Richard Schmalensee, the Howard W. Johnson Professor and Dean, Emeritus, at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

The three days were extremely productive for Conservation Interaction, connecting with other projects and organisations that can assist with applying for funding, behavioural change research and mobile technology developments.

We would like to thank the Climate Colab organisers, MIT University, National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), who sponsored our contest and everyone who contributed to our fundraising to enable us to present at the conference. We are now able to push forward with our efforts to attain full time funding and production, which is greatly assisted by this recognition.

We are Climate Colab Winners!

September 2014

Our proposal 'A Collaborative Solution Communications Platform' was judged the winner in the Climate Colab contest 'Communicating Coastal Adaptation and Resiliency'.

We would like to thank everyone who voted for us during the competition. Our entry can be found here .

We have been invited to the 'Crowds & Climate: From Ideas to Action' conference from 5-7 November 2014, which focuses on how new technology-enabled, crowd-based approaches can help in developing creative new ideas and taking meaningful action on climate change. In addition, there are panels of world-class leaders and researchers who have successfully studied and fostered transformational change in the business sector, the policy domain, and in the work of reshaping social attitudes and behaviour. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for us to present our winning entry to these experts and to the conference audience.

This is our key stepping stone to full time, long term funding. However, we need some assistance to enable myself and my star contractor, Mandolin Kahindi to get to the venue. We are looking to raise a minimum of £3000 for flights, accommodation, visas, food and transport. If we have any funds left over we will be able to purchase some much needed computing equipment for our organisation.

So please help us get to Boston and launch our platform. All donations are gratefully received, no matter how small, and will be used responsibly. You can find our donation site at gofund.me/fh3dig

Conservation Interaction would like to thank ARTI Energy for their recent generous donation. We have been able to buy lots of new studio equipment, including headphones, studio mics and a headphone amp. This will make a huge difference to our strategy to become self-suficient and also enable us to create high quality recordings for our project and clients.

ARTI Energy works to bring the benefits of clean energy products to individuals and communities throughout Tanzania, including solar-power, sustainable charcoal and fuel efficient cook stoves. Check out their great work here.

Thank-you to our sponsors!

May 2014

We would like to say a big 'Asante' (thank-you) to all the people who donate their knowledge, time, effort, materials, equipment and cash to help make Conservation Interaction a success.

In particular we would like to send our appreciation to:

  • Neil Baker from Afri Developers. We have chairs in our studio now!

  • Hasnain Pardesi from Nida Textiles. His donation allowed us to cover our studio sound proofing with material and also provided cloth for the studio curtains and cushion covers.

  • David Coffey from RFI Kiswahili. A permanent loan of a studio desk, office desk, headphones, mixer, laptop and microphone cables has enabled us to reach our goal of a fully furnished office and studio.
